The Heart Sutra is a meditation retreat based on Osho’s commentary on the “Heart Sutra” (Prajñāpāramitā HridayamSūtra,”The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom”), which is the most famous and profound sutra of the Buddha. Its importance, depth, meaning is unmatched.
These teachings belong to the seventh “temple”, the transcendental, the absolute, the wisdom that goes beyond space and time. The essential teaching of the Heart Sutra is that all phenomena are fundamentally empty (Shunyata), that is, devoid of intrinsic reality. Osho’s commentary and explanation of the “Heart Sutra” is among the most important series of his speeches.
Together with Osho’s revolutionary and innovative active meditation techniques, this intense meditative process represents a wonderful opportunity to grow and deepen our path and understanding.
MAIN TOPICS OF THIS RETREAT
- Emptiness (Shunyata)
- The five aggregates (Skanda)
- How the illusion of self is formed
- The surrender
- The way and the absence of the way
- Suffering and the absence of suffering
- Non-duality
- The awakening
“Listen to these sutras because these are the most important sutras in the great Buddhist literature. Hence they are called The Heart Sutra; it is the very heart of the Buddhist message. These sutras can become a revolution. Buddha’s insight is very penetrating, the most penetrating. Nobody has ever penetrated into those realms, depths and heights of reality.” OSHO, The Heart Sutra Chap. 1
“His message is the greatest that has ever been delivered to man. And this sutra is one of the greatest expressions of Buddha. This is unique.” OSHO, The Heart Sutra Chap. 9
