It is a human need to feel connected to others, to share at least some degree of emotional intimacy–with a spouse, or with other close persons. For many of us who are aging, and perhaps not as intimately connected with others as we used to be, there can be a feeling of missing the physical contact and closeness with another that we once enjoyed.
As we mature in life, our need for intimacy remains, but it often happens that there is a shift away from the ‘doing’ of physical lovemaking towards subtler, gentler qualities of relaxation, warmth, affection, and heartful meetings.
This workshop is about exploring ways that we can continue, as we grow older, to enjoy intimacy, closeness, and energetic connection with those we love, without necessarily engaging in sex.
It is a Tantra journey focuses on how to bring the quality of meditation into our intimate meetings with the other. In this group we offer a safe space to explore simple, enjoyable practices that can enhance our energetic connection to ourselves, and re-open the doors to intimacy, giving us new and different opportunities to meet and flow with one another.
Together with contemporaries we’ll discover ways to bring joy into our aging journey, and to celebrate our ‘elderhood’.
MAIN PURPOSES
- To bring energetic aliveness into the body, to become more sensitive to feelings and flow in the body.
- To relax into natural spontaneity and playfulness, with ourselves, and with each other.
- To learn how to slow down
- To open the inner doors of love.
APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
We will use body movement, breathing, and subtle energy work rooted in neo-Reichian techniques, to bring awareness into our bodies and deepen our inner sensitivity.
We’ll be sharing in small groups, journaling, and using other verbal/conceptual methods to explore our beliefs, ideas, and experiences connected with aging and sexuality.
Osho’s active Meditations, guided meditations, and partner meditations from Osho’s Book of Secrets will all support the process of opening the doors to a fresh, new, and ‘mature’ intimacy.
WHAT IT OFFERS YOU

- A deeper connection with one’s own natural vitality and the energy flowing through one’s body
- The opportunity to learn how to meet and share sexual energy with another person, in ways that do not necessarily involve sex itself.
WHO IT IS AIMED
This workshop is particularly aimed at those who are, in their lives, beginning to confront their own aging. These are the ‘Forest Years’ .
To participate, people must be at least 50 years old, or older.
In this workshop we will be addressing issues of aging and mature love, and everyone in the group will be facing similar transitions at this time in their life.
“Love has an immense coolness about it. But very few people have attained to the coolness of love. Either they are hot and passionate, or when they become tired and bored with this heat, they turn to the opposite, they become an ice-cold saint, frozen.
Mind has a way of moving like a pendulum, from one extreme to the other. That’s how the clock runs, by the pendulum moving from one extreme to the other. If the pendulum stops in the middle, it will be the coolness of love; and if the pendulum stops in the middle, the clock will also stop.
I can say it in another way: in the moments of cool love, you feel time has stopped; there is no movement, everything has stopped. It is so silent that there is not even a ripple on the lake of your consciousness.
My longing is to fill this whole world with cool love; and through cool love we can give birth to a new man, to a new humanity” OSHO, The Rebellious Spirit
